Euphoria

This project is an illustrated poster inspired by the HBO show Euphoria. This show is a wild ride that sheds some light on the struggles of youth today. While a lot of it was over dramatized for entertainment purposes I found that parts of the show really resonated with me. while I haven’t experienced hardships like the characters did, I do know the struggle of being a teen and the pressures that are placed on us.

The Main Character Rue, played by Zendaya (the person in the illustration) turned out to be my favorite. I found her struggles resonated with me the most. I wanted this illustration to visualize some of the crazy beauty of being young. I painted her in a purple, pink color scheme to fit the visual look of the show. The show utilizes really extravagant lighting while focusing on great cinematography. So I wanted my illustration to show of some of that style too. While the background might be a beautiful sight, it is a splash of craziness that surrounds her. The show is very hectic and Zendaya’s character deals with a lot of struggle, from her addictions to just trying to be a normal teen.
